琥珀メダカの成り立ち
琥珀メダカは、2004年に改良メダカ専門店の「めだかの館」によって作出されたメダカになります。その際に琥珀色の体色にちなんで「琥珀メダカ」と名付けられました。琥珀メダカは、茶メダカから黄金メダカになり、黄金メダカから琥珀メダカが生まれています。黄金メダカの黄色素が朱赤色素に変化した事によって茶色素が際立ち朱赤色素と茶色素を持ち琥珀メダカが誕生しました。また、琥珀メダカから楊貴妃メダカが生まれている点も面白い点になります。
